Myself in Past, Now, and Future

My name is Nahdah Ayatillah. I am the second of five children. I have a twin sister her name is Sarah Ayatillah. We have a father and mother, my father is a farmer and my mother is a housewife. At that time mother's children went to school starting from elementary school, junior high school, senior high school and university. Surely the economic burden felt by our parents, which had to send us all to school.

Sarah and I had the intention to continue studying in Java. I chose Padjadjaran University, and Sarah chose Semarang State University in the 2017 SNMPTN program. The election made me very happy, because I won the highest report card grades in the science department, and Sarah was 14th. We were registered as recipients of Bidikmisi scholarship, in order to ease the burden on our parents.

Alhamdulillah, Sarah was accepted into the majors of Chemical Engineering, Semarang State University, but I did not. I kept trying to take various tests but unfortunately failed. Until finally I had to be free and not to go to college for a while. When I was free, I went to Tanjungpinang. I stayed with adoptive parents. They were friends of my parents. There I worked as a teacher in the tutoring. At the same time I also filled my time in preparation for college.

In 2018 I still had the intention to study in Java, but Allah had the best way for me. I was accepted to Maritim Raja Ali Haji University majoring in marine science. New majors for me and it is inversely proportional to my life while in Padang with lots of rice fields, fields and gardens.

Now I am a student at Maritim Raja Ali Haji University. Major marine science 4th semester. I am a student awardee a Bidikmisi scholarship. I am active in organizations such as CORAL (scientific student group) and FOSMI (Silahturrahmi Forum) Sanifatul Ulum. I have done many activities such as volunteer in clean beach activities, volunteer mangrove planting, volunteer activities with students from NUS (Nusional University of Singapore) etc.

I am also actively participated in scientific writing contests. One of the achievement that I got with my team was the recipient of the best maritime theme essay. Besides that, I also won the second place on Quran Tilawatil Competition. I also became a lab assistant in Marine Biology. Now I am sure, this is the reason why I study at Maritim Raja Ali Haji University, which is to improve my achievements, experience and skills. To improve my skills, I took part in the POSSI One Star Scuba Diver (A1) Certification program. Activity to get a dive card. There I am taught how to dive, assemble diving equipment, and how to become a good and reliable diver.

As a result, I have a diving card. I was invited by a senior to help research lecturers on the island of Nikoi and Cempedak, Bintan. There were many extraordinary people I met such as people from KKP (Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries) LIPI (Indonesian Institute of Sciences), Ecological Foundations, CI (Conservation International) Australian students, Singapore students to someone of the experts the reef of the world is Gerry Allen. I'm really happy and grateful. One thing that become my weakness is English, because when the foreign people are communicating, I don't know what they says. I just stay quiet, because my English is bad.

Time answered all, because my English is bad, I had the opportunity to study at AIEC (Afford Internasional English Course). There I study English, I hope this is one step to improve my English base and can continue my Masters

I want with my knowledge I can shape and develop my campus into a famous campus for maritime affairs. Creating students who are reliable in their sector, especially marine science. I want to be a lecturer and researcher. I want to help many people and with this knowledge I hope to make Indonesia a maritime country in the eyes of the world. An idea that hopefully comes true.
